welcome to lyon 2018

Filled with beguiling cities, sleepy villages and long stretches of river and mountains, Lyon offers an extraordinary cultural journey through Europe's finest landscapes and famous districts — in style

The noted food critic Curnonsky referred to the city as "the gastronomic capital of the world"

Is it really so? No but the Street art capital of the world, definitely !!

lyon - worlds best murals no doubt

Since 2000, Birdy Kids, a group of graffiti artists from the city, has decorated several random buildings and walls along the Lyon ring road. In 2012, the artist collective has been chosen to represent the city as its cultural ambassadors.

So what about the food, really...

Well actually we were rather disappointed and found it quite difficult to find normal restaurants with a variety of culinary choices - just mâchon everywhere..

Architecture, and what about that?

The city develops between and around two rivers, the Rhône and the Saône.
I would divide it in four main parts for what concerns urbanism and architecture:
Confluence, where you can find modern buildings and contemporary developments;
Presqu’île, the historical heart of the city in which the Roman, Medieval and Renaissance periods blend together;
The hills of Fourvière and Vieux Lyon, the ancient Roman settlement and the Renaissance district;
Part-Dieu, the business centre in which the highest towers are located.
